Understanding Roennfeldt Road Shiraz
I'm a bit sad that I opened one of my two bottle because the wine as in its infancy. The 1999 Roennfeldt Road shiraz has easily another 10 years of ageing ahead to start to mature. This is one special wine; I hope that next time I crack open a bottle it will be as amazing as the nose would suggest. If you have any experience with this wonderful wine, send me a note and we'll post some discussion on this producer and vineyard. |
shiraz vocabularyby Brian Pasch Cellar Door The phrase "Cellar door" is used to refer to the point where tourism meets winemaking — a shop at a winery that allows visitors to taste and buy the wine made there or using grapes from that area. In the States we would refer to the same function as a winery tasting. In any case, the same end result is produced; a bond with the winery and way too much wine to drink!
